If you know me, or if you even watch my stories on Instagram, you know I LOVE all the cozy things! That being said, I had to make sure our little apartment was cozy!! Here are 5 things I’ve done to make our apartment a little more cozy.
Adding little pieces of greenery can bring the room to life! (Don’t worry, they can be fake plants, as mine are too!) If you’re looking around a room and you’re feeling like its lacking something, try adding some greenery to it and I promise you will love the outcome!
Having your favorite scent burning is an easy way to make your house feel cozy and homey! I have a candle in my kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom (so every room in our apartment lol) and I pretty much always have one of those burning!
3. Soft Rug(s).
Believe it or not, this actually made a big difference in my apartment! However, I would be careful with this for 2 reasons: 1) if the room already has a lot going on, you don’t want to add too much to it! 2) adding a dark colored rug to a smaller room can make the room look even smaller + closed off. If you do it the right way though, adding a soft rug can be a game changer! Again, I have a rug in every room of the apartment. I even have 2 (that are layered – which I LOVE) in the living room!
Layers create dimension. This can be created through pillows, blankets, or layering two rugs as I mentioned above.
In my opinion, less is more! Less decor on the walls, less small decor, etc. I’m not saying don’t have it, because I forsure think you should! I just think that having too much of it can create clutter, and that definitely isn’t cozy or homey! I have a few picture frames, a few decor pieces around the house, and one statement wall piece hanging up in each room.
In this picture from our living room, we have a statement piece hanging, layers created from the pillows and blanket, as well as candles lit! Doing each of these has definitely made our apartment feel a little more cozy + homey.
